A long, lean and beautifully carved Adze - STREAMLINE!
This is a fantastic piece of natural jewellery. It is a gorgeous shape and looks beautiful worn about a hands width under your chin. It curves slightly to the front and sits beautifully.
Have a look at the video we have taken of this piece slowly rotating. It has a very subtle and beautiful form. The jade has been polished to a silky soft polish finish - this is an outstanding piece of jewellery. It is large and has real 'heft', it will be a wonderful piece to wear if you're after something substantial and with weight.
STREAMLINE - handcarved from New Zealand Pounamu.
THE TOKI - it's history and meaning...
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
This is a one-off piece and will make someone very happy!
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
