THE JOURNEY HOME

Check out the lovely colouring in this stone. It is a beautiful pale green, semi-translucent and soft - reminiscent of a luscious, mossy forest floor - THE JOURNEY HOME.

Take a look at the brief video which shows this piece revolving. It is a gorgeous, flawless piece of stone and has been carved beautifully to bring the best out in this wonderful natural material.

THE JOURNEY HOME is a fine and slender pendant - it is a great size if you are looking for a smaller piece, something subtle and elegant. Toki are a strong design, but this piece is a very soft colour and we have used cord and binding colours that complement the beautiful inanga jade.

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.

We are very fortunate to have artists who have maintained, and evolved, the carving skills that Māori have used for centuries to make tools and jewellery This toki is a wonderful example of this art.

The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.

We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
