TIPURANGA - the final in a series of three Tangiwai Koru pieces carved for us by Rueben Tipene. This is an exceptional carving, a wonderful flowing design, made from a stunning piece of stone.

Beautifully designed, and flawlessly crafted, this is a sensual pendant made to wear and handle! The finish is a soft, polished matte. We have plaited a dual blue coloured cord that picks up tones in the stone - it is length adjustable.

Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.

This piece is provided on a hand plaited cobalt blue and maui blue, adjustable cord.
