Hand carved by Ross Crump, TOA - CHAMPION is made from beautiful, soft and subtle New Zealand Inanga Jade. This is a very cool piece - slender, detailed and finished with a soft polish.

The body of this manaia culminates in a fish tail - a gentle organic detail, the curves complement the koru carved into the manaia's base. For us, these details establish a connection between the ocean and the land - perfect for a piece that comes from Aotearoa, our island nation.

TOA - CHAMPION looks fantastic from both sides - take a moment to watch the short video we have made which shows the pendant slowly rotating. This will give you a very clear picture of the shape nuances and the colour of the stone - it's well worth the few moments it will take you to watch it.

We provide this with a plaited Wapiti Brown cord which lets the beauty of the piece come to the fore.

The Manaia: a mythical being believed to be the invisible light, or aura, surrounding a person. They represent spiritual power and are believed to be the guide that leads the spirits to heaven. They are worn to guide and protect.

The Hook:  The wearer of a Hei-Matau is seen as a provider and protector who is strong willed and determined to succeed in life - what a lovely sentiment to gift to someone important to you.

The Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’.  The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.

This pendant will be delivered to you with DHL Express Courier on a plaited adjustable cord. We will also include our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Manaia, Hook and Koru design.
