LIFEBLOOD - the indispensable factor or influence that gives something its strength and vitality

We are really delighted with LIFEBLOOD. A large, traditional toki carved from a stunning piece of dark New Zealand Jade. This particular piece of stone is a deep green with whispy pale swirls softening the jade's appearance - it has tons of life and character.

We have bound this with a traditional lashing in Pohutukawa Red. The neck cord is a hand plaited Pohutukawa Red and Burgundy colour which is length adjustable with Burgundy Slip Knots.

LIFEBLOOD - a spectacular piece that will accompany you for a lifetime!

If you like this piece please take a moment to watch the brief video, this reveals the shape and variability in the stone quite clearly.

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. Traditionally, the adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. It is a symbol of authority.

This shape is derived from a chisel tool used by the Māori people of Aotearoa (New Zealand) to carve their great canoes and carved detailing on their meeting houses. It was an essential tool in their daily lives, and a good quality jade adze was a prized possession.

We will deliver this to you with DHL Express Courier and include our 'Kia Ora' card, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
