Here's an original New Zealand Jade toki for you! We've named it WEKA after a flightless native bird we have here in New Zealand - they are inquisitive and cheeky birds and we thought of them the moment we saw this uniquely coloured piece. The cord and binding colours are a little tribute to the cool little bird.
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful ....and this is a good one!
This beautiful Toki has a Koru carved into its side - this symbolises fresh beginnings, a new start - the perfect pendant for someone taking on new challenges
Traditionally, the toki is worn to provide strength and courage to assist through life's challenges, and the koru is a symbol of rebirth, growth and new beginnings.
We provide 'WEKA' on a hand plaited Kalahari and Wapiti Brown adjustable cord.
We include our 'Kia Ora' cards explaining the meaning behind both the Toki and Koru designs.
