FAMILY is a larger sized, double sided, Toki pendant with koru and hammerhead design.

Amanda has used a natural white bone, polished to a beautiful bright finish. The Koru carved down the front and back faces are stained in a pale brown and polished to a matte finish - a beautiful contrast that has produced a beautiful piece of traditional jewellery.

FAMILY is provided with a camel coloured adjustable length cord. If you would like a different coloured cord - please let us know in the comments section at checkout.

This beautiful Toki has Koru carved into its centre - this symbolises fresh beginnings, a new start - the perfect pendant for someone taking on new challenges.

A NOTE ON THE FINISH: Amanda has used cow bone for this piece and stained and polished it to give it this fascinating finish. Look closely at the photos and you can see that the white parts are not totally consistent. This is a result of the bone's porosity. The stain penetrates the bone differently depending on this density and this lends the final piece a wonderful, antique appearance - this is something that Amanda has perfected and it is quite unique to her work.

The hammerhead shark holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for many indigenous peoples of the South Pacific Islands. It is often revered as a guardian or ancestral being, symbolising strength, protection, and connection to the ocean.

In some traditions, hammerhead sharks are considered sacred and are believed to embody the spirits of ancestors, playing a central role in myths, rituals, and ceremonies. Additionally, these communities have historically relied on sustainable fishing practices that respect the shark's role in the ecosystem, reflecting a harmonious relationship with nature.

The hammerhead design has two inward facing Koru, this symbolises family protection and guidance.
