MIDNIGHT WANDERER

MIDNIGHT WANDERER - a solid, traditional toki carved in New Zealand pounamu.

Carved by Donna Summers this toki is a clean, crisp design and will appeal to those of you looking for a large but visually unobtrusive pendant. The quality of the workmanship and design is what you would expect from Donna. She has selected a dark, subtly mottled stone and has finished it in a buffed satin matte. This will just get better and better with wear as it absorbs a little energy from its owner.

The cord is in beige, and can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots. MIDNIGHT WANDERER is a stark piece of traditional jewellery, made to be worn all the time.

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.

The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
