OCEAN TRAIL - This koru pendant, is carved from New Zealand Marsden Jade. A beautiful piece of stone - it is a very dark green with pale cloud-like inclusions. OCEAN TRAIL has been polished to a soft matte.

A large pendant by Ric Moor. This is a hammerhead koru. In some cultures the Hammerhead is believed to protect swimmers and fishermen from the Great White! Here's a little guardian for lovers of the ocean...

OCEAN TRAIL - jade art carved for us by Ric Moor. The best way to appreciate this work is to watch the brief video we have taken of it slowly revolving. Look for the spattering of pale inclusions throughout the stone - this is a broody and beautiful piece!

OCEAN TRAIL - a piece to be worn and displayed - the carving and the jade are both perfect. We love the koru in the centre - it is carved with a real swing, curving back in on itself and ending in a fine translucent point.

A little about the Koru....

The Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’.  The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.
