SAFE PASSAGE - Hand Carved Jade Manaia Pendant

Hand carved for us by Shaun Gardiner. Shaun has used a beautiful bright green New Zealand Jade which he has highlighted with a highly POLISHED finish.

The jade has lovely cloudy and black speckled inclusions - this piece has a lovely glow when held to the light.

SAFE PASSAGE is paired with a Brown coloured adjustable cord - if you would like a different coloured cord; please let us know in the comments section at the checkout.

There is plenty of detail in SAFE PASSAGE - the body of the manaia is decorated with a hook in the shape of a very finely carved fish tail. All in all this is a very precise, delicate carving that looks fantastic worn high on the neck.

The head of a bird, a deep, solid heart and a fishtail - SAFE PASSAGE is a medium sized pendant with a big impact.

The Manaia: a mythical being believed to be the invisible light, or aura, surrounding a person. They represent spiritual power and are believed to be the guide that leads the spirits to heaven. They are worn to guide and protect. 

The Hook: The wearer of a Hei-Matau is seen as a provider and protector who is strong willed and determined to succeed in life - what a lovely sentiment to gift to someone important to you.
