We are delighted to introduce hand crafted work from a new artist, Sami. Sami has carved this piece in New Zealand Kauri Gum - a gorgeous, varied gum from our native Kauri tree. This gum has spent a good part of its life buried in swampland locked up in fallen Kauri - it is quite rare and very beautiful - especially in the hands of a talented artist!

Kauri Gum is the fossilised resin of the Kauri Tree, a rare piece of history from Kauri trees long gone. It is an amber, not a stone.

This particular piece is a gorgeous, semi-translucent, hand carved Kauri Gum Kowhai flower pendant. It is a substantial piece but the material is quite light so it is a very comfortable pendant to wear.

Look at the photos and watch the brief video - you'll appreciate the lovely, sensual nature of this material..... and it feels as good as it looks!

We provide GOLDEN KŌWHAI on a 55cm sterling silver chain, or we can put this beautiful piece on an adjustable cord for you - let us know in the comments section at checkout.
