OCEAN'S BREATH - a beautiful whale bone Toki pendant

Carved from whalebone, OCEAN'S BREATH is a tough toki made to be worn. Wear it and watch it get better and better! Don't be afraid to make it a constant companion.

This particular piece of bone came from a Sperm Whale rib and shows the characteristic granular look that we love in this material. It's structured, a little weathered and a great tribute to these mighty ocean mammals.

This is bound with a Black cord and Passion Red binding. The cord is length adjustable.

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.

The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
