RACE DAY WHIMSY -  A beautiful drop pendant, hand carved in New Zealand Marsden Jade.

Jen Hung captures the sartorial spectacle of the Melbourne Cup in this quirky, small-scale masterpiece. Taking inspiration from the city's famous race-day fashion, Jen has carved an entire story into this little pendant.

The piece is a study in contrast and composition. The main body, carved from a dark green jade, features a beautiful textured surface, mimicking the fine fabric of a designer dress. Perched above it is a delicate, pagoda-like hat carved from soft, pale green flower jade, adding a layer of whimsical elegance.

The two elements are connected by a spray of subtle colour... two distinct clusters of variably-hued Burmese stone beads. This vibrant collar serves as the functional heart of the design, the point where cord meets stone.

Gorgeously balanced and meticulously carved, this pendant is a celebration of quirky stories and superb artistry.
