A simple Black Jade crucifix pendant with an intricate, hand carved Christ made from Woolly Mammoth Tusk.

These are intricately carved and quite beautiful - the pictures and video show the quality of the workmanship clearly.

We have carved these from Black Jade - a deep black colour with lighter inclusions in the stone. This is a natural structure that forms with the stone where minerals are wrapped into the jade during its formation.

The Mammoth Tusk used for this piece is CERTIFIED 34,690 YEARS OLD (+/- 815 years). All our woolly mammoth pieces are provided with our certificate of authenticity.

We had our mammoth material carbon dated to get an accurate measure of its age. The testing was done for us by GNS Science, a New Zealand Crown Research Institute and New Zealand's leading provider of Earth, geoscience and isotope research - so their assessment of this material is as accurate as is possible using radiocarbon dating technology.
