Two-tone bone koru pendant by Tonijae Brockway
Sleek, well designed and beautifully hand crafted.
Little things can make a big difference, and in this piece that is certainly the case. Tonijae has coloured particular parts of the bone with a light brown stain providing a wonderful visual contrast of colours that accentuate elements of the design - a strong white wave underpinning the sweeping body of the koru.
REFRESH is a medium sized pendant and is provided with an adjustable length cord. Slip it over your head and adjust the length until it sits exactly where you like it!
The Koru: the Māori word for 'loop'. The spiral shaped koru design represents an unfolding silver fern frond. The circular movement towards an inner coil refers to ‘going back to the beginning’. The unfurling frond itself is symbolic of new life, new beginnings, hope and rebirth.
Take a look at the video and you will appreciate the artistry of this beautiful piece.
REFRESH is lovingly packaged in a woven kete pouch. Also included our 'Kia Ora' card, which explains the meaning behind the Koru design.
