NZ PACIFIC TOKI
In stock
An original 'NZ Pacific' Toki!
This is a lovely bone carving with some beautiful detail and depth to it. A traditional Toki with our beautiful logo and a manuka green cord and sage binding. This piece represents New Zealand's mountains and our surrounding oceans - and underpins our 'Gifts from the Land'!
A symbol of courage and strength in times of adversity, toki were worn by Māori elders as a symbol of power, wisdom and authority.
Traditionally people from the Pacific used the toki to build fortresses and waka - ocean going canoes. It is a symbol of authority and power and the wearer is believed to be a person of good character.
Māori believe that carvings carry the spirit of those who wear them, becoming an important family Taonga (treasure) passed on to future generations of the family as an heirloom.
Delivery with Express Courier is included in the price.
We will also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards which explain the meaning behind the Toki design.
