CHEVRONED AMULET
In stock
CHEVRONED AMULET is rather unique. Carved for us by Yuri Terenyi, it is based on a very old style design that was carved by Māori many years ago. The chevron design was found incorporated in quite a number of designs, and combined with the bird, has an almost South American look about it. This perhaps reflects an ancient, shared heritage.
We have found an old article that discusses in a little more depth the history of the design. Here is a link to the article: CHEVRONED AMULET
The piece that inspired this one is now in Canterbury Museum.
CHEVRONED AMULET is carved from Warthog Tusk and is a delightful, large and artistic piece of jewellery.
Take a moment to view the video - this shows the fine carving and the subtleties that are central to this very unique and attractive design.
We provide this pendant on a hand plaited, length adjustable cord and it will be delivered lovingly packaged in a woven kete pouch.
