Hand carved for us by Sami - he always surprises with his choice of materials and very unique designs. Each piece is original and a 'one only'!
LIFE'S TALE is beautifully made, light in the hand and very comfortable to wear. It is suspended from a fine beige cord which is length adjustable so that you can position the pendant where it suits you best.
The body of the pendant is carved from a fossilised Kauri Gum. This material has spent a good part of its life buried in swampland locked up in fallen Kauri - it is quite rare and very beautiful - especially in the hands of a talented artist! This piece is clear and a very soft honey-gold which beautifully contrasts with the light engraved mammoth tusk insert - a great pair!
Kauri Gum is the fossilised resin of the Kauri Tree, a rare piece of history from Kauri trees long gone. It is an amber, not a stone.
