A beautiful, large Toki pendant carved in New Zealand Pakohe, Argillite Stone. Artist: Rueben Tipene.
KARU is a lovely, creative piece designed and carved to create a strong visual impact, worthy of the toki design. Pakohe is a dark black/grey colour and, in this piece, it is offset with an etched design which is filled with a silver enamel.
Rueben is producing some wonderful creative art combining his carving skill with a fresh approach to traditional design - KARU is a great example of this!
Rueben has polished KARU to a soft matte finish.
