TAMA - Boy
Carved in bone by Kerry Thompson. This is a beautiful piece, immediately recognisable as a piece by Kerry - finely carved and with his partial staining that brings out the design elements beautifully. TAMA is a very fine piece of carved art.
Standout detailing makes this a very striking pendant. Kerry has coloured particular parts of the bone with a light brown stain - the face and the koru on the front face, and a central swathe on the back. This has two effects: it creates definition and highlights design features in a subtle and alluring manner, and it effectively creates quite distinct designs front and back.
Worn either side to the front, this is an outstanding work of art.
TAMA is a medium-large sized pendant.
Kerry has left the stained bone matte and has polished the natural bone to a lovely sheen, again this adds to the beautiful dimension of this piece.
TAMA is provided with an adjustable length cord.
