Strength

A number of our carvings represent and convey strength. Particularly the Toki, or adze, signifies determination, control, strength and honour.

A similar teardrop shape - or roimata - also represents strength and independence, and is often worn when people are confronted by challenging situations and are seeking positive energy and reassurance.

For those travelling, particularly across water, the whale tail signifies strength and speed and was worn to provide protection and safe passage.
