HEART OF THE HUI – a toki that puts the family at the heart of the design. The main hammerhead Koru stands proud as the "parent" koru, with the rest of the family gathered around it – a playful nod to that fierce, loving instinct that makes parents superheroes.

Amanda carved this from natural white bone and polished it to a warm, glossy finish. The bold Koru pops beautifully against the pale bone, making the design leap out and celebrate the wonderful chaos of family life. Wear it as a fun, heartfelt reminder that love is the ultimate superpower.

In this piece, the hammerhead design has two inward facing Koru, this symbolises family protection and guidance.

The hammerhead shark holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for many indigenous peoples of the South Pacific Islands. It is often revered as a guardian or ancestral being, symbolising strength, protection, and connection to the ocean. 

In some traditions, hammerhead sharks are considered sacred and are believed to embody the spirits of ancestors, playing a central role in myths, rituals, and ceremonies. Additionally, these communities have historically relied on sustainable fishing practices that respect the shark's role in the ecosystem, reflecting a harmonious relationship with nature.
