ORO - a beautifully carved Treble Clef for lovers of music and art to wear!
ORO - Resonate - Hand carved for us by Andrew Doughty.
An exceptionally beautiful, reversible pendant that is destined to become your constant companion!
In the artists words below, a description of his thinking behind this gorgeous design...
This Taonga is called Oro which means resonate. This reflects the overall design which is a stylised treble clef.
Sound is one of the first senses we develop. Music is healing and is a universal language. As such, this Taonga symbolises unity, and love. It also represents the transformation from negative to positive. For example, music can acknowledge all states of mind and express these in a constructive and healing manner.
The Kowhaiwhai pattern flowing up the carving on the front represents working in harmony with others. Each marking between the koru represents an individual sound. Each unique sound combines to create the resulting symphony which is symbolised by the actual koru and their interconnectedness. The sweet sounds of life. They are rising which is symbolic of the arising of happiness and joy.
The pattern on the back represents the flowing resonance of love. Our hearts nature is represented by the pāua inlay at the base of the treble clef. Being at the base, it symbolises that love is a true foundation for living a fulfilling life.
ORO is a marvellous piece that will certainly draw attention and comment.
ORO is lovingly packaged in a woven kete pouch and is provided with an adjustable cord. Also included in your package, a note from the carver about your original work of Art to Wear.
