BLISSFUL - this piece will 'knock your socks off'!!
A small New Zealand Jade Pounamu koru which culminates in a fine, and beautifully carved, whale tail - carved by Shaun Gardiner. This is a very finely crafted piece from some of our most beautiful New Zealand jade - a very deep green piece of Marsden.
We have bound this piece with a hand-plaited Black cord with a floret popper in Pohutukawa Red. The cord is length adjustable which will allow you to position this piece where it suits you best.
What caught our eye here was the delicacy of the carving - a very fine koru which alone is outstanding. Add to this the fluke of a whale and you have a really unique and attractive piece of jade jewellery. Although this is a small piece - it packs a powerful visual impact, and we're sure that it will become a favourite piece of jewellery.
The KORU, represents a young, unfurling fern frond opening and bringing new life and purity to the world. It also represents peace, tranquility and spirituality, along with a strong sense of growth or new beginnings.
It represents how the strong bond of friendship, loyalty and love last forever.
The WHALE has quite some significance in Polynesian cultures. Here in New Zealand whales are believed to be descendants of Tangaroa - the God of the Oceans. They are regarded as sacred and supernatural beings and are believed to provide guidance and protection.
Shipped with DHL Express Courier. We will also include our 'Kia Ora' card, explaining the meaning behind the koru design.
