RIPEKA - ARANGA - A Beautiful Bone and Jade Cross Pendant

This ripeka is named - Aranga (rising up, arising, resurrection).

As a symbol of atonement, the message of the cross is that Jesus Christ, God's own Son, willingly suffered and died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, As it says in Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.“ As a result, Jesus Christ attained victory over death.

The front patten on the cross contains a Rauponga pattern that symbolises lineage, In this instance, it is our adoption into Gods family, Ephesians 1:5, states, "in love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will".

The koru on the back depicts a growing vine, For we are grafted into the vine through the gift of grace freely given. In general, the koru represents new life and new beginnings so is very fitting.

The markings in-between the korus symbolise that we are carried, supported and nurtured by God's love.

In the centre is an inlay of pāua. This represents the depths of abounding steadfast love, grace, justification and sanctification for which we only glimpse.
