Hand made in Amber, Silver and Onyx.

This is a beautiful piece that we acquired on a recent visit to Mexico City. It was hand made by a local artist who has been creating traditional jewellery using local materials for over 30 years. This piece caught our eye for a number of reasons - the striking traditional Mayan face and the combination of gorgeous local materials. The beads are amber from the Chiapas region of Mexico and the central figure is carved from Onyx, also from Mexico. She has added some beautiful detail using silver, also from Mexico!
