SWEET PEA - this is a wonderful little toki carved in rare woolly mammoth tusk. It is hand made with a little Koru heart. We've bound these Toki with a beautiful binding, selecting cord colours that complement the material - each piece is unique.
We have two options available; please use the drop-down menu to make your selection.
The Mammoth Tusk used for this piece is CERTIFIED 34,690 YEARS OLD (+/- 815 years). All our Woolly Mammoth pendants are provided with our certificate of authenticity.
We had our mammoth material carbon dated to get an accurate measure of its age. The testing was done for us by GNS Science, a New Zealand Crown Research Institute and New Zealand's leading provider of Earth, geoscience and isotope research - so their assessment of this material is as accurate as is possible using radiocarbon dating technology.
As an adornment, the Toki, or Adze, is said to bring courage and strength in times of adversity. It is a symbol of courage and strength in times of adversity and is often worn by Maori elders as a symbol of power, wisdom and authority.
Maori believe that carvings carry the spirit of those who wear them, becoming an important family Taonga (treasure) passed on to future generations of the family as an heirloom.
This pendant is delivered to you with Express Courier and will have a 'Kia Ora' card which will provide you with a little bit of information on both the Toki/Adze and Koru design and its meaning.
Please note: the pendant shown in the hand and the video are for size reference only.
