An exquisite, finely carved little work of art!
A carved representation of the möbius strip discovered by German mathematicians August Möbius and Johann Listing in 1858. The principle of this ribbon is that it has only one side and one boundary, it is non-orientable.
These carvings represent the many paths followed in life and love and are regarded as an eternity symbol.
This particular piece is carved from jade. We have aimed for something that looks imperfect, but captures the lovely endless form of this remarkable shape. This piece meanders around the loop, is very fine and has a lovely translucence. In places the carved jade is super fine - quite the work of art and very difficult to achieve.
Watch the brief video to appreciate the beauty of this piece - the carving is exquisite!
