Midnight Goddess - the Venus of Willendorf figurine, handcarved in Black Jade. This is a gorgeous piece to hold, rounded and weighty.
The original Venus of Willendorf was discovered in Austria and is believed to have been carved around 30,000 BCE. Although there is no definitive understanding of the meaning of the original figurine, the exaggeration of the parts of her body associated with fertility and child-bearing suggest that she may have been associated with fertility rituals.
This piece has rounded, soft curves in the front face and a beautifully rounded, carved back - a lovely, sensual pendant.
Take a moment to view the video, you can clearly see the pendant's form.
