NEW ARRIVAL
A stunning, long and slender Toki pendant hand carved from New Zealand Flower Jade.
We've bound this with a kalahari/khaki coloured cord with Khaki Green Floret Popper and binding - it suits this piece of Jade beautifully.
CASTLEPOINT - named after an East Coast location on New Zealand's North Island. A rugged place at the end of the road - windswept, and exposed to the elements. If you head east from there, the next landfall is South America!
The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.
The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
We also include one of our 'Kia Ora' cards, which explains the meaning behind the Toki design.
