Welcome our little SENSEI pendant, a small New Zealand Flower Jade Toki and a symbol of wisdom, strength and guidance ... ahh SENSEI knows best.
Carved from Flower Jade (bred and hand carved right here in New Zealand).
We bind these with a Burgundy cord or a Black cord with a Turquoise Lashing. Please make a note of the piece you would like (using the cord colour) in the comments field at checkout.
As an adornment, the Toki, or Adze, is said to bring courage and strength in times of adversity. It is a symbol of courage and strength in times of adversity and is often worn by Maori elders as a symbol of power, wisdom and authority.
Maori believe that carvings carry the spirit of those who wear them, becoming an important family Taonga (treasure) passed on to future generations of the family as an heirloom.
HERE'S A TIP: wear the pendant yourself for a week or so before giving it to your child. You can tell them that a part of your spirit is now in the pendant and that you will be with them wherever they are. This is great for children who are facing a situation - starting a new school, or moving to a new neighbourhood for example. It can help give them a little support and confidence when they're facing a new challenge.
Included with one of our 'Kia Ora' card explaining the meaning behind the Toki design.
