THE LAST EYRIE - Whale Bone Haast Eagle pendant
Stand out art to wear! A gorgeous whale bone pendant.
This large pendant is carved from a single piece of whale rib. The bone is over 150 years old, having been kept by one family since the 1870s. Its visible grain and aged patina are preserved in, and become a part of, the carved design.
It is a creative and somewhat abstract design made possible by the large and solid bone utilised. The front depicts a Haast eagle - an extinct species - clutching and protecting its egg. Koru swirls are integrated into the eagle's form. The reverse features abstract carved wings in relief.
The piece is substantial in size. It can be worn as a pendant or displayed as a standalone sculptural object.
This is a visually strong design that leaves a striking and lasting impression.
The cord is adjustable, but it is quite short and needs to be fully extended to pass it over your head. If you would like a longer cord, and/or a different colour, please let us know and we will make that change for you.
Delivery with Express Courier is included in the price.
